Belgatom as Technical Expert in the frame of the Murmansk RADON Remediation Coordination Unit

In november 2006, a Consortium led by Crown Agents for Overseas Governments and Administration Ltd, with Belgatom as Technical Expert, has been awarded by the European Commission as Murmansk RADON Remediation Coordination Unit.

The main purpose of Belgatom, in the frame of this Coordination Unit, is to review the existing documentation, identify missing data and prepare the technical specifications in order to assist the European Commission in the procurement process of turnkey works contract related to the retrieving of solid and liquid radwaste currently stored at the Murmansk RADON facilities, conditioning and packaging this to modern standards.

The duration of the Belgatom service works is estimated at about one year.
