EPZ Project MOD2G Borssele NPP - Take Over certificate signed (June 2007) |

|
The EPC contract being carried out by the Belgatom-GTI (BA-GTI) consortium at EPZ’s Borssele nuclear power station (NL) is coming to an end. On May the 31st, both parties signed the take over certificate.
This project covered the engineering and construction of various modifications that resulted from EPZ’s latest 10-yearly safety assessment. Within the partnership BA was responsible for the project management, the nuclear engineering and the final testing. .

In november 2006, a Consortium led by Crown Agents for Overseas Governments and Administration Ltd, with Belgatom as Technical Expert, has been awarded by the European Commission as Murmansk RADON Remediation Coordination Unit.

Belgatom pursues its bilateral cooperation programmes with beneficiaries of Central and Eastern European countries (September 2006) |

For several years, Belgatom has been present in Central and Eastern European countries through bilateral cooperation agreements that are signed between Belgium and beneficiary countries. These cooperation agreements are financed by the Belgian Ministry of Economic Affairs.
For 2006, cooperation agreements have been signed with 8 beneficiaries in 5 different countries in the following areas of expertise:

In the frame of the decommissioning of nuclear installations in Europe, the Directorate General for Energy and Transport of the European Commission (EC DG TREN) issued an open call for tenders to study the following topics:
Analysis and quantification of parameters governing the character and quantity of radioactive decommissioning waste (lot 1);

For several years, Belgatom has been present in Hungary through a bilateral cooperation agreement between Belgium and Hungary that is financed by the Belgian Ministry of Economic Affairs. The beneficiary of this funding is PURAM, the public agency for waste management in Hungary.
